The main notebook compartment is padded and can fit almost all 15-inch notebook models, unless they’re bulky old models (such as Compaq Armada, which definitely wouldn’t fit). Here you will also find some smaller sleeves for computer accessories.

On the outside there are more compartments and zippered sleeves, where you can stock various items that you need quick access to: mobile phones, keys, pens, cables. There is also an adjustable mesh pocket for water bottles that can be easily removed if you don’t wanna use it (a feature that I usually take advantage of). There’s the Velcro media pocket perfect for an iPod, iPhone or a Blackberry Curve placed on the shoulder strap.

I’m very happy with this bag. It looks good, the fabric is durable and soft at touch, it weights very little and it’s very comfortable to carry. I particularly like the cross-shoulder strap, because it’s made of a very soft, well-padded fabric and it doesn’t feel weird at touch, not even on those very hot summer days.

However, I wouldn’t recommend this Brenthaven Sling to those who need to carry a lot of heavy items every day. I use it only for my notebook and a few other weightless things, but if I was to carry a heavy load, the one shoulder strap would definitely disturb me as it doesn’t allow the weight to be equally divided on my shoulders and it would often loose balance. Anyway, it should be able to fit in most of your computer essentials for a day at college or work.

This bag is divided into two large inner compartments: a special, VERY well padded laptop sleeve, that can easily fit a 16-inch laptop and even larger, yet it leaves enough room to stuff in some magazines or files as well. The second large compartment can store all your laptop accessories, external HDs, books and any other reasonably large items of this kind.

Here you will also find the special pocket destined to fit mp3 players or any other kind of media device and another a second zipped mesh pocket for writing instruments or small notebooks and others. It’s very easy to access and to locate.

There are even more pockets on the outside. The most useful one is placed on the lower part of the backpack and it’s divided into several smaller sleeves – it looks like some sort of wallet. I usually store there various credit cards, ID card, papers or any other trifles.

The SwissGear Computer BackPack also features side, adjustable mesh pockets for water bottles of various sizes and a small carabineer keychain.  Its only inconvenient is that the inner large pockets are not entirely separated. Anyhow, the items you stock there should be incredibly small for them to mingle, so that should be a problem most owners will get over.

Unlike other products I found so far, this bag looks small and compact, but holds a very clever design. I would’ve never guessed that it can store so many small items, like all my computer accessories, mobile phone, documents, cards, keys and sometimes, even TWO 13.3-inch notebooks.

Moreover, I’ve been using this bag for 4 months now and my back started to feel great again. I had only messenger bags so far and their main problem was their lack of flexibility. I used to switch it on the other shoulder when the one I was wearing it on started to hurt but that couldn’t compare to the level of flexibility this convertible bag has.

Also, if you’re looking for a bag with a professional design (like I was), this one is perfect for you. It doesn’t have that mottled aspect and can be carried by the side if the situation requires it (at conferences or business meetings), yet it is durable (and water resistant!).

I consider myself lucky for finding it. It has a very convenient price for its top quality, it’s small and discreet, you can wear it however you want and projects a professional image.

Oh… my mom noticed my new Convertible Notebook Backpack/Messenger Bag with Multi Pockets as well and complimented me for my purchase therefore I consider buying her one as well, it would definitely fit her too;  you never know when they stop making this model and I’ll be forced to search for backpacks through all the stores again

I like this backpack for laptops because I can carry it on both my shoulders and my body doesn’t feel any pressure. I can stand straight and the shoulder straps don’t cut into my skin, that padding does wonders. The back of the bag is also padded and doesn’t stick to my back and that’s useful on hot days. The design is very simple and elegant and that stylish black with just a slight touch of grey around the zippers is really neat. Also, I haven’t had any problems with the zippers so far. They work perfectly and never scratched my laptop neither did the cables and the other laptop accessories I usually store in the pocket nearby.

While reading some reviews for this product, I noticed someone saying that this bag can actually fit her 18.4-inch Toshiba Satellite! That was really unexpected, cause a large amount of 17-inch backpack models cannot even fit all the 17-inch laptops. I sort of expected to have the same problem with my bag, but fortunately that wasn’t the case.

The VERY good part about it is that it keeps its shape no matter what you toss inside. I don’t like the bags with no shape, made from soft fabrics. That’s probably one of the main reasons why I simply love this Belkin Energy Collection bag. I think it’s classy, fit not only for casual outings, but also for more formal occasions (I’m not ashamed to take it to my office).

I’m a fairly well built person myself. I couldn’t afford to buy some cute, tiny, pink bag for laptops that would’ve looked extremely funny on my back. First of all, I like this back pack for its considerable size. Don’t get me wrong, the bag itself isn’t HUGE. But it definitely does leave that impression, prolly due to its many, many external pockets where you can stuff almost anything that crosses your mind. Well… not exactly anything, but pretty many items.
For instance: two days ago I went on a short mountain trip. Even if I didn’t plan to spend a lot of time with my laptop, I still brought it, just in case the journey went extremely boring (in situations like that, Solitaire is my best friend). With not so much effort I managed to stuff in almost everything I needed. My notebook in the special compartment, its accessories in the nearby sleeve together with a couple of light T-shirts, some personal items in the next pocket and my phone, wallet, a little notebook and some pens in the small, frontal part. I used the expandable mesh to add a pair of mountain trousers and they actually fit in! And I haven’t even got to the best part: because of those padded shoulder straps, I barely felt the load’s weight. There’s padding on the interior of the bag as well, so much padding that your computer doesn’t get any scratch, bump or any other physical impact. I literally tested that, I dropped my bag for a thousand times, stuffed it in my car’s carrier, even fell while I was carrying it on my back and yet it survived.
All in all, I’m very pleased with my Brenthaven Expandable Trek. I hope it’s going to last for at least as long as my former bag.

It’s made of quality water resistant fabric with perfect stitching; soft padded shoulder straps that make it very comfortable to carry around. It also has a padded top handle that allows me to carry it by side. When I carry it on my back it feels so light almost like the bag isn’t there at all. It is built with an airflow mechanism so you can say goodbye to those old bags that make you all sweaty on sunny days.

The bag is divided in a dual compartment style, one quality padded pocket that can fit my 15 inch laptop, a few books, files and magazines and the other one for accessories, cell phone, media players, pens, cosmetics and so on. Be warned this is a compact backpack for laptops, so don’t expect to be able to bring along clothes or other large stuff in it. On the outside it has two adjustable mesh pockets for all kinds of bottles and a frontal zipped pocket that can store a couple of items that you’ll want to access easily like keys, id card, credit card.

The only inconvenience about this laptop backpack is that its interior compartments aren’t zipped; neither do they have another closing mechanism so you need to be careful with the small things if you drop them in there – they can easily fall off the bag. Then I went to a business conference in Paris and I had to take the bag with me in order to please my wife. Packing was never an easy thing to do for me, but with Targus Zip-Thru my problem was solved within minutes.

It has 3 major compartments, the back one is especially designed for laptops and it can easily fit my 15.6 inch Acer Aspire laptop; there is also a small compartment that splits the bag in two and a larger sleeve were I stuffed a set of indoors clothes. A large external pocket is placed right in front of the bag and there I stored some files, the laptop adapter and some hygiene items. It also features some smaller pockets for various accessories.

Moving around with this backpack in the airport was quite ok. All the weight of my bag rested on my shoulders instead of my right hand, and that was a pleasant change. The check in was a lot faster than usual, I only had to unzip the special compartment and split the back in two for easier X-ray scan. I still had to take out the laptop since they scan it separately, but that took only few seconds so I gained extra time to visit the shops till my plane arrived. In the plane the bag fit perfectly under my seat.

It can perfectly fit my 15 inch laptop leaving a bit of space so I guess it can accommodate up to 17 inch ones. It has 3 main compartments and 2 small ones on the sides for bottles, therefore this bag is very easy to organize. I’m no big fan of those bags which have tons of small pockets on the outside – they all look alike: shapeless and I never get the right pocket when searching for my stuff.

The inside compartments of this laptop backpack are very well organized, there’s a padded computer pocket in the large back sleeve, but there’s also plenty of room left for other items I happen to bring along: files, books and magazines, laptop adapter and cable or other accessories. The second compartment features a few other pockets, one for cell phones, another one for media and that’s where I usually keep my blackberry and few small sleeves, wallet-like, perfect for credit cards, id card and spare change. The last compartment is located in front of the backpack and is a lot smaller, but provides easy access to things you’ll store there; I honestly never used it since the other two are more than enough for my daily needs.

This SwissGear Computer Backpack very light on my shoulders even after I packed it with all the things I needed and that’s incredible. Those padded shoulder straps help a lot, together with the airflow system on the back of the bag (that’s quite useful on a hot weather).

I searched with no luck all the local stores for a bag that could meet my standards, when a co-worker suggested I should to try out SwissGear backpacks for laptops. The main computer sleeve is secure and perfectly fits my laptop and most of the cables that I need; the secondary sleeve contains a media pocket on one side, which I use for my audio player and 2-3 spare batteries for my equips, a zipped mesh pocked in the other that can fit the rest of my cables and accessories, and the main compartment where all the rest fits. The outside smaller pockets are useful to store snacks, but when I’m in a rush I just stuff everything at random with care for sensitive equips and sometimes I even have extra space.

Be careful tho with all that weight. Since SwissGear Computer Backpack is so spacious you’ll be tempted to bring along way too much stuff and despite the comfortable padded straps, you will start to feel all that weight in a couple of hours.

I particularly like the display of those three sleeves marked by grey zippers, it helps me keep all my stuff organized. I use the small front pocket to keep my audio devices and cell phone, the middle pocket for school books and the large one for my laptop and cables.

When I have to leave the house for 8-10h a day I always take with me an extra t-shirt, and even with all this weight on my shoulders it’s still comfortable due to those padded shoulder straps that take all the pressure.

Another great advantage of this backpack is its simple design and I can tell you now, it really has good zippers; even after a few months of daily usage they haven’t got stuck once. The main compartment designed for the laptop is padded and if you wonder whether that is enough to assure your equipment safety, it really is! Within these past few months I constantly dropped my bag in all that school rush, yet my laptop is still in perfect condition. I even carry the bag with me on my school trips.
