I bought this backpack for laptops two days ago mainly because of its amazing looks. I’m a big fan of gray/red combinations so the moment I saw it I knew this is the right one for me. It’s made of quality fabric and the stitching is perfect, it’s about the perfect size, neither too large, nor too small.

It can perfectly fit my 15 inch laptop leaving a bit of space so I guess it can accommodate up to 17 inch ones. It has 3 main compartments and 2 small ones on the sides for bottles, therefore this bag is very easy to organize. I’m no big fan of those bags which have tons of small pockets on the outside – they all look alike: shapeless and I never get the right pocket when searching for my stuff.

The inside compartments of this laptop backpack are very well organized, there’s a padded computer pocket in the large back sleeve, but there’s also plenty of room left for other items I happen to bring along: files, books and magazines, laptop adapter and cable or other accessories. The second compartment features a few other pockets, one for cell phones, another one for media and that’s where I usually keep my blackberry and few small sleeves, wallet-like, perfect for credit cards, id card and spare change. The last compartment is located in front of the backpack and is a lot smaller, but provides easy access to things you’ll store there; I honestly never used it since the other two are more than enough for my daily needs.

This SwissGear Computer Backpack very light on my shoulders even after I packed it with all the things I needed and that’s incredible. Those padded shoulder straps help a lot, together with the airflow system on the back of the bag (that’s quite useful on a hot weather).

When I first saw this backpack for laptops in an IT accessories store I didn’t need a new case for my laptop, yet its futuristic, round edged design got stuck into my mind. I was pretty content with the bag I had used so far, another model from Belkin, only it was larger and more stretchy. A few weeks later, I lost my case together with all the rest of the stuff I had with me, so naturally I had to search for a new laptop and a new backpack.
So… I got back to the IT store and purchased the item of my dreams! It has the perfect size and best construction for me, as it really is slim, like the description says. The shoulder straps are well padded, so I don’t feel any discomfort at all and the back of the bag is also padded.

As far as storage goes: there are few pockets on the outside, just enough so they don’t ruin the overall shape of the bag, but more than enough sleeves on the inside, so I can stuff inside all my daily necessities: my new laptop in the large pocket, along with some textbooks and files, pens and pencils in their special slots (there are two pockets destined to pens but you can use other pockets if two aren’t enough), the power supply extension cord in another sleeve, my nano iPod, its cable and the headset that I can pull outside the bag through the special headphone grommet for easy access, I can even fit my umbrella inside the main pocket. I use the side compartment (the external one, placed on the front of the bag) to store small cables, my keys and other thin things.
For such a slim bag, the Belkin Slim Back Pack can really hold a lot of items. It looks good, I like the colors, the storage room… EVERYTHING about it is great. I’m really happy with my purchase and hopefully I won’t misplace this one too.
